MATERNITY BENEFITS

Increase From January (N.Z. Press Association) WELLINGTON. Dec. 22. The maternity benefit will be increased from January 1. The Government approved increases after negotiations between representatives of the Government and the New Zealand branch of the British Medical Association. The delivery fee of £5 5s has been increased to £7 7s, and the post-natal fee of £1 Is to £1 Ils 6d. The ante-natal fee will remain at 10s 6d but the limit of £4 4s for eight ante-natal services has been removed. Increases have also been approved in other fees related to maternity services, such as those for anaesthetists and consultants.
