Concert For Mental Patients

About 200 patients were entertained at a Christmas concert at the Sunnyside Hospital on Monday evening. The concert was organised by the chairman of the Canterbury branch of the RyderCheshire Foundation (Mr S. J. Parker). Hakas, a poi dance, and action songs were performed by Te Ropu Maori O Hoani, a Maori cultural dub. and Mr K. Bonnifaee played a trumpet and piano simultaneously. Mr H. R. Muir presented a juggling act Christmas carols were sung, and the patients t received presents of sweets. The latter were given by the Returned Services' Association, the Brevet Club, the Air Force Association, and the Salvation Army.
