Survey Of Aviation InNZ There were 16 registered helicopters in New Zealand in October this year. Registered aircraft totalled 817, and there were 88 gliders. This information, and a multitude of other facts relating to every aspect of aviation in . New Zealand, are contained in the 1966 Whites Air Directory. The 1966 volume is the 17th to be published, has 178 pages and lists 42 subject categories on the contents page. They include a survey of historical events in New Zealand aviation, beginning with Professor Jackson’s successful! balloon ascent in Christchurch in 1890, and ending with last month’s milestones nrhxfing the opening of Auckland's new airport. A “Who’s Who tn New Zealand aviation” has 271 entries, and in another section technical and general details of aerodromes and . airports throughout the country ere provided.
