Haydn Work Heard Again

“The Return of Tobias,” an oratorio by Haydn written a quarter of a century before ’The Cresrion” and "The Seasons,” and belonging to the time of the symphonies in the forties, was revived in London this month. Composed in Italian for ptirfoznwM.t in Vienna, it consists of arias separated by recitative with one duet and a few choruses, and wus performed ail over Europe with great success, even being pillaged and ptegjßxiaexl. Haydn conducted exceipts in London in the 1890 s and revised and added to it, but a full score was not published until recently.
