The icnior water polo competition leader, Beckenham A, was defeated by the lowly Beckenham B aide, 3-5, yesterday, tie Bret lose in Christchurch club competitions for three years although it has been beaten in the New Zealand interclub finals during this period. Wharenul beat Elmwood. 3-1. and University came from behind to beat Christchurch. 3-3, whtle Fendalton had the bye. Beckenham B. led by D. BUlesdon. took advantage of. the unusually poor passing and weak defence of the A team to turn a 4-2 deficit at half-Ume into victory. R. Henry and B. HcNellage put Beckenham A into the lead early In the match, but BiMesdon scored two quick goals to level the scores. However, soon after this. Henry and McNeHage scored again. C. Nearey beat the Canterbury goalkeepsr, B. Monk, within well-placed lob-shot and Btttesdon brought his personal tally to four goals after twice swimmink from half-way and shooting powerfully Into the corner equalised after a good pass from D. Jury, but Just before full-time milesdon scored again to make the final score.
