FORECAST TO MIDNIGHT

Situation.—A depression is moving slowly north-eastwards across New Zealand. An anticyclone centred east of Canterbury and over the western Tasman is moving slowly eastwards. Forecast: Canterbury.—Moderate easterly winds; cloudy and cool. Outlook: Partly cloudy. Marlborough and Nelson.—Fresh southeasterlies about Cook Strait; elsewhere moderate easterlies; cloudy and cool. Buller and Westland.—Moderate variable winds; partly cloudy with moderate temperatures; a few isolated showers. Outlook: Partly cloudy.
