CHRISTMAS PARTIES

Provision For Teen-agers Employers who arrange Christmas celebrations and end-of-year parties for their staff should make provision for those who do not drink alcohol, said the Rev. H. A. Bridges, of the CanterburyWestland Baptists’ Association.

Mr Bridges was commenting on a resolution passed at a recent meeting of the association stressing the need to provide some other refreshments for the many teenagers who would be attending these parties. These celebrations were an accepted part of the Christmas season, but they could be dangerous occasions for teen-agers unaccustomed to liquor. Employers had an obligation to provide an alternative for those who wished to share in the festivities but did not wish to drink alcohol, the resolution stated.
