GAVE FALSE EVIDENCE

Gaoled For Six Months (N.Z. Preu Association) AUCKLAND, Dec. 17. A man who admitted giving false evidence at a previous hearing was sentenced to six months* imprisonment by Mr Justice Gresson today. Mr H. Fulton, for Donald John Frank McLellan, aged 21, told the Court that McLellan had been arrested about two months after the false statement and had believed that no charges would be brought. He said McLellan's life of crime had started after he felt he had been unjustly criticised after his father had been placed in an institution four years ago. This was because of an assault on him by his father.
