SECRETARY APPOINTED
Anglican Social Services Mr F. A. Gunn, of Christchurch, has been appointed the secretary-manager of the Social Service Council of the Diocese of Christchurch. He will take up his appointment in the New Year on the retirement of the present manager Mr G M Morgan.
A married man with three children, Mr Gunn retired from the regular army in 1963 with the rank of major. He is a lay-reader in the parish of New Brighton, where he is also vestryman and synodsman. He is a graduate of the New Zealand Armed Services Staff College. Until his retirement from the army he held at various times the position of Deputy Assistant Adiutant General for the Central Military District and more recently Recruiting and Public Relations Officer for the Southern Military District. Since his retirement from the army he has been associated with a local publishing company. He was awarded the M.B.E. in the Queen’s Birthday honours list in 1965. In his new nosition he will be the council’s chief administrative officer and will, in association with the senior social worker, be responsible for the work of the Anglican social services.
