NO OFFICIAL INVITATION
NZ Visit By Billy Graham
No official invitation will be sent to the Billy Graham Crusade organisation by the National Council of Churches, it was decided by the executive committee at its monthly meeting in Christchurch. If Dr. Graham decides to carry on to New Zealand after the proposed tour of Australia in 1968, then tile National Council of Churches will investigate ways of helping in the campaign. The executive's resolution said that as it could not extend a unanimous invitation the Billy Graham organisation should be informed that if a visit to New Zealand by Dr. Graham was planned, the executive was willing to seek the co-operation of member churches in conducting a campaign. The substance of the replies of the member churches would be conveyed to the organisation. At the annual meeting of the council in July it was resolved to write to member churches to find if they wished the council to proceed with negotiations. There was not unanimous support
