WORLD TREND TO DECIMAL CURRENCY.—A map of the world supplied by the Decimal Currency Board showing, in white, all the countries with a decimal monetary system after the Australian change-over next February. Countries which intend to change are shaded. They are New Zealand, Western Samoa, Cook and Tokelau Islands (July, 1967), Fiji (January, 1969), Zambia and Rhodesia (no date fixed). The countries shown in. black continue to use pounds, shillings, and pence and have no announced intention to change. They are the United Kingdom, the Republic of Ireland, Jamaica, Nigeria, Gambia, and Malawi.
