Paraparaumu Talks Late In January

<Ntw Zealand Fr«» Association.* WELLINGTON, December 6. Talks about tho future of Paraparaumu aerodrome would be held with the Minister of Civil Aviation (Mr McAlpine) and tho Minister of Works (Mr AUen) near the end of January, Mr F. J. Kitts, chairman of the Wellington Regional Planning Authority, and Mayor of Wellington, said today at a meeting of the authority.

He sold the authority’s regional planning officer, Mr G. F. Bostd, was obtaining information concerning the length of runways and total area of airports overseas. Mr McAlpine said last week that there was a need for large-scale spending on airport development in the Wellington region and a decision on the development of Paraparaumu would be made early next year. The Town and Country Planning Appeal Board announced today the postponement of appeals against the proposed construction of an international airport at Paraparaumu.

The appeals, originally set down for December 15 and 18 at Paraparaumu, toll probably be heard in February.
