OBJECTION TO RULE

Ambulances At Red Lights (N.Z. Press Association) AUCKLAND, Nov. 4. Auckland ambulance drivers last night agreed to obey an instruction from the general manager of the St. John Ambulance Association, Mr S. E. Langstone, that “under no circumstances is an ambulance to proceed through a red light.”

But the drivers were far from happy about the instruction, the acting-secretary of the Northern Drivers’ Union (Mr L. T. Smith) said today. The union is asking for urgent discussion with the association of the case of a driver who was dismissed for disobeying the instruction.
