A move to appoint a recruitment officer for the ministry of the Presbyterian Church of New Zealand was defeated by 160 votes to 111 today in the General Assembly. The recommendation for the (committee on recruitment of (candidates for the ministry was for a six-month appoint--1 inent. | It was suggested a pilot scheme should be initiated in a limited area.
