LAUNCH BLAST

Bodies Not Found (N.Z. Press Association) DUNEDIN. November 3. Search parties failed today to find the bodies of the two men who are believed to have been killed when their launch exploded on Lake Hawea on Tuesday morning. They are Wilbur Clark, aged 60, retired, of Alexandra, and Peter Cheal, aged 41, a pilot, of Auckland. The launch exploded half a mile off-shore at 10.10 a.m. on Tuesday, at Meads landing, 31 miles north of the dam site at the southern end of the lake. A third man in the launch, which was heading for the Hunter river on a fishing trip, was Louis Bernstone, a taxidriver, of Invercargill, who was blown clear by the blast and swam ashore.

He stayed to help in the search for the other two men. The search will continue tomorrow.
