Heathcote And Halswell Property Values Rise
qoiq.w 3AEa[ jo piodaa stq joj Capital values of property in the Heathcote and Halswell counties have risen by about £1.4 million during the last five years. The Valuation Department announced that all properties in the two counties had just been revalued and notices posted to the owners.
In the Heathcote county the total capital value of properties stands at £12,204,295 —an increase of £1,433,485 on the 1960 valuation.
The unimproved value has increased by £1,262,715 to £4,199,220 and the value of improvements by £170,770 to £8,005,075.
In the Halswell county the new capital value is £7,207,750 an increase of £1,396,945; the unimproved value £3,505,840 —an increase of £1,106,925. The value of improvements rose by £290,020 to £3,701,910. The branch manager of the Valuation Department (Mr V. R. Aitken) said that farming areas in the two counties had been inspected by the district valuer (Mr J. R. Kingston) and the residential areas of
Heathcote county by Mr G W. A. Dobson.
The inspections of the residential areas of Halswell had been carried out under the supervision of Mr M. D. Kilpatrick. Valuers would be available to discuss valuations with owners at the Valuation Department offices in Hereford street from November 8 to November 11.
