Hotel Standards

Sir, —When Mr B. Ivory, secretary of the Licensing Control Commission, says that the commission’s requirements for bedroom and toilet facilities in country hotels are "modest,” he is clearly out of touch with the owners of the hotels. Mr Ivory says extra finance can be procured from the hotel investment account administered by the State Advances Corporation. Can Mr Ivory tell us when this came into operation, and the interest charged?—Yours, etc., S. W. HICKMOTT. October 25. 1965.

[Mr B. Ivory, secretary of the Licensing Control Commission, replies: “The hotel investment account was established in 1948 and the interest rate for first mortgage is 6 per cent.” |
