Caravan Club Rally
Seventy-five caravans and 255 persons took part in the Automobile Association (Canterbury) Caravan Club’s Labour Day week-end rally at the Culverden Domain. The weather was cold and wet on Saturday, but fine for the rest of the week-end. Activities included tennis, golf, rounders for the children, and a picnic at the Leslie Hills sheep station at the invitation of Mr Duncan Rutherford. There were also visits to Hanmer Springs and to the vintage car rally at Waiau. The caravan rally ended with a community morning tea, when the president (Mr D. C. Fox) welcomed several new members. The rally cap.tain was Mr L. Morris.
