TANGIBLE THANKS
(N.Z.P.A.-Reuter—Copyright) LONDON, Oct. 27. Five thousand refugees who came to Britain to escape Nazi persecution have contributed £90,000 to a “Thank You Britain” fund, it was announced yesterday. The money is being handed over to the British Academy, the country’s leading society dealing with humanistic studies, which will use it for university research awards in the field of human studies. particularly those which have a bearing on the welfare of the British people.
