AUCKLAND, October 26.
A two-week United States work permit has restricted the New Zealand pop singer. Dinah Lee, to only one of the seven television appearances originally planned for her in the United States. Dinah Lee said on her return to Auckland that she had been given enough time to appear in the television pop show “Shindig." This required one week of rehearsal. American audiences will see the result on Friday. Other appearances that had been planned for her had been on other Hollywoodproduced shows including “She-Bang." "Hollywood-a-go-go,” “The Jimmie Rogers Show,” and “Chivalry.”
“Of course I'm disappointed," said Dinah Lee, “but it just can’t be helped."
She leaves New Zealand on Friday to settle in Sydney. Early next year she is booked to tour the United States and England with the American pop singer. Gene Pitney, who recently toured New Zealand.
