Sky Drift Wins Cup

Only five runners faced the starter for the running of the City Tattersall's Gold Cup of a mile and a half at Randwick on Saturday. The race was won in a photo finish by Sky Drift from Tea Biscuit, with Great Life three lengths and a half away third.

The other two starters were Piper's Son and River Seine. The owners of the two which finished fourth and fifth have now deferred decisions on whether they will be taken to Melbourne.
