P. Moore Takes Seven For 60 The outstanding performers in the first round of the women’s cricket competitions were p. Moore and P. Blackler. Miss Moore took seven wickets for 66 runs for Technical, and Miss Blackler scored 57. Miss A. Colville, who scored 51 not out, was the only other player to reach 50. Winning teams were: West-ern I, St. Albans 1 and St. Albans K. Western I v. Mai Moa Opening at 42 for one, Mai Moa struggled to reach 125. Miss P. Keen batted attractively to 24 but she had to leave the field with a pulled muscle, and B. Harris batted doggedly for 44. Western declared at 64 for one in its second innings and at stumps Mai Moa was 75 for three with Miss Harris contributing 37. Scores; Western I 197 for two declared and 64 for one declared (J. Witte 20 not out, S. Cowles 29 not out) beat Mai Moa 125 (B. Harris 44. P. Keen 24; E. Rouse three for 29, S. Mahalm two for 22, J. Dickinson two for 36) and 75 for three <B. Harris 37). on the first innings. - Western II v. St. Albans II A good double by Miss C«I--viHe, who scored 51 and took five wickets for 29 runs, gave St. Albans n first innings points. Scores:— Western n 96 (J. Olsen 34, D. Donaldson 32; A. Colville five for 29) and 16 for three, lost to St. Albans II 161 for seven declared and 95 for two declared (A. Colville 51 not out). St. Albans I ». Technical Set a target of 132 runs tn 90 minutes. Technical batted briskly to reach 82 for four wickets, which gave St. Albans a win on the first innings P. Moore gained a good double, taking seven for 60 and scoring 39. Scores: —
St. Albans 77 and 116 (P. Blackler 59, J. Stead 25; P. Moore seven for 60) beat Technical 61 and 82 (or four (P Moore 34, E. Flett 23: p. Black ler three for 25), on the first innings.
