First round matches In the lower grades of the Canterbury Cricket Association’s competition resulted:— Second Grade A

West-University 113 and 190/9 declared (Wright 67, Waters 54) beat Sydenham 81 and 199/5 (Hartiwich 59. Howard 57), on the first innings. Old Boys 151 and 115/6 (Hadlee 47, Jones 30 not out. Harper 3/29) beat Technical Old Boys 88 and 175 (Sibley 50, Dryland 47; Spinks 5/29). by lour wickets.
