Lemons For Hospital

In an unusual public appeal, Whakatane Hospital has been advertising for gifts of lemons to be prepared for patients’ drinks. Each year the hospital has processed about 600 cases of lemons but two months ago a deep-freeze refrigerator was installed so now more fruit can be handled. The hospital has been asking residents to give surplus lemons from garden trees and the response has been excellent.
