“INSTANT LAUNDRY”
Through Wash In 50 Seconds (N.Z. Press Assn. —Copyright) LONDON, October 13. A London firm has developed an “instant laundry’” machine. Dirty shirts went in one end and came out 50 seconds later washed, ironed, and folded, the “Evening News” reported. Expected to revolutionise the British laundry system, the machine was the fruit of more than two years’ research by a team of specialist engineers.
As well as cutting the present lengthy laundering process, it reduced fabric damage, saved labour charges, and washed clothes cleaner, the makers claimed. The new machine was the invention of the British Launderers’ Research Association.
