RESCUERS ON WAY

Man Hurt In Mountains (From Our Own Reporter) GREYMOUTH, Oct. 12. A six-man rescue party headed by Mr J. Taylor, a national park ranger, left the Fox Glacier on Monday morning to bring in an injured man, Mr Duncan Ferguson, of Wellington. The party was expected back tonight or early tomorrow morning.

Mr Ferguson suffered ankle and chest injuries when he fell down a 40ft bluff in Karangarua Valley on Sunday. The valley is a very remote area on the western side of Mount Cook, between Bruce Bay and the Fox Glacier. It is thought that Mr Ferguson and a companion were on a hunting expedition when the accident occurred.
