MALAYSIAN TO DIE

Consorted With Indonesians

(N.Z.P.A.-Reuter—Copyright)

KUALA LUMPUR, Sept. 13. A leader of the Malaysian Socialist Front Opposition Party was sentenced to death in Kuala Lumpur yesterday for consorting with members of the Indonesian armed forces.

The High Court was told Tan Huw Lam, alias Tan Sin Sen, aged 22, was found consorting with an Indonesian raiding party which landed last year at Labis in Johore State, South Malaya. In a statement, Tan admitted he had been to Indonesia where he had received three months’ military training. “I had a grudge against the Government because my Chinese education was not recognised by them and as a result I could not get a job,” he said.
