Italy, Russia And Spain Win
(N.Z.P.A.-Reuter—Copyright) SAN SEBASTIAN, Sept. 12. Italy, Spain and Russia won gold medals at the world cycling championships in San Sebastian yesterday. L. Faggin (Italy) regained the professional pursuit title from his conquerors of last year. F. Brack (Belgium), Miss V. Savina won the women’s sprint to give Russia its eight successive victory in the event, and M. Mas brought Spain its first gold medal by winning the amateur motor-paced event. Earlier in the day the men’s amateur team pursuit was moved to the semi-finals, which will be contested by Italy, East Germany, Czechoslovakia, and Russia.
For the first time since the track events began last Monday, there was no rain.
