CRITERIUM RACE
T. Tabak (Avon) on Saturday won the Avon Clycling Club’s criterium, a rally event that includes a round around houses, hill-work and a flat section.
He took the lead for the first lap and was then passed by P. Skilling (Papanui) and S. Stephen (Papanui). Riding strongly, he won the fourth lap and finished Imln 7sec ahead of J. Danielson (Papanui).
Timaru riders were prominent in the B grade event, D. Hewson taking first place and M. Cague and G. Leinhart finishing third and fifth respectively. Abbreviations used in the results are: Avon <A), Papanui (Pi, Timaru (T), Christchurch (C). Results:
