Policemen Tipped Out His Beer

(N Z. Press Association) WELLINGTON, Sept. 3. A charge of stealing a beer glass worth Is 5d on Saturday, laid against Taihaere Morrell, aged 21, a requisition officer, was dismissed by Mr M. B. Scully in the Magistrate’s Court today after Morrell pleaded not guilty.

Morrell told the Magistrate he had only been

getting a breath of fresh air, when he was arrested by two policemen as he was walking down Willis street about 30 yr.rds from the Brunswick Hotel, with a glass of beer in his hand. The policemen had tipped out his beer. “What?” asked the Magistrate. “You lost your beer?” He dismissed the charge immediately.
