Charles Now 8 Behind
(N.Z. Press Assn.—Copgripht) AKRON (Ohio), August 29. The New Zealand professional, R. J. Charles, dropped out of the reckoning with a third round of 76 in the American golf classic on Saturday. In the first two rounds Charles was among the leaders with his 71 and 69, but he finished the third round eight strokes behind. The American, Al Geiberger, with three excellent rounds cf 70 , 69 , 69. had a five-stroke lead over hobby Nichols (69 , 70 , 74). A further stroke away was Arnold Palmer (70. 70, 74).
