PENSIONER FLATS

More Being Built Twelve units in what will be eventually a 56-unit block of pensioner flats are expected to be completed for the Waimairi County Council by the end of September. The flats are in Fletcher place, upper Riccarton, and will supplement the 24 pensioner units opened by the council in Palliser place in February and another block of 12 in Raleigh street. The council's architect. (Mr L. Wooding) said yesterday that, the contractors were making good progress on the 12 units nearing completion. Each flat would follow the design of the previous units, with separate living-room, bedroom, bathroom and kitchen in single-storey blocks, built of varied materials. Other units in the Fletcher place block will be opened progressively—l2 more next February, 16 hext August and the final 16 in February, 1967.
