Covered Ways Studied

Although the concept of short covered ways is unlikely to be improved on, the links between buildings and aircraft at Mangere and at Christchurch are still being studied. “The design details for both the domestic and overseas areas, including the actual method of transferring passengers from the covered way to the aircraft, are at present under study. “In this study all methods within the scope of the airport concept will be taken into account.
“These matters will also be considered when the Christchurch terminal extensions are being planned,” he said.
