Chesterfield At Yaldhurst
The Greymiouth-owned trotter, Chesterfield, was left at Yaldhurst with H. Stafford after he had finished eighth in the Intermediate Handicap on the first day of the national meeting. Chesterfield, which looked on the burly side before the race, was one of the most promising trotters in commission in the spring of 1963. He was injured at the cup meeting that year and his racing since then has been restricted because of recurring soreness.
Stafford has an outstanding record with unsound horses and Chesterfield could yet live up to the high opinion formed of him early in his career.
