fN.Z PA -Reuter —Copyright) NEW DELHI, August 25. Indian forces had crossed the Kashmir cease-fire line in two places to prevent infiltration by Pakistanis, the defence minister, Mr Y. B. Chavan said in New Delhi today.

Mr Chavan said that the Indian troops had captured four 81 m.m. mortars, a rocket launcher and a number of Browning weapons. He did not elaborate on his brief statement and did not specify exactly where the action took place, but it is believed to be in the Kargil sector of Kashmir. The Speaker of the Lower House refused members permission to ask questions, saying that security matters were involved.

A Defence Ministry spokesman said later he did not think there was “any more fighting” at the two points crossed. Exchanges of fire were continuing at other points along the cease-fire line, however, he said.
