APPLICATIONS REFUSED
Road Transport Of Briquettes
An application by Craddocks Transport, Ltd., of Westport to carry briquettes from Ngakawau to Nelson and Marlborough, has been refused by the No. 8 Transport Licensing Authority (Mr J. S. Haywood). Mr Haywood, giving a reserved decision, said there was lack of supporting evidence from the State Mines Department, and substantial assistance was afforded by the Railways Department in the marketing of briquettes. A similar application by Eden Brothers, Ltd., of Nelson, was also refused by Mr Haywood. Buller Agencies, Ltd., of Westport, which applied for a continuous goods-service licence with two vehicle authorities to transport oil products for' Europa Oil (N.Z.), Ltd., from its Nelson depot, was granted a licence with one vehicle authority.
