Inter-Island Steamer
Sir, —Once again an official reply completely misses the point of the correspondence. The manager of the Union Steam Ship Company may feel he has satisfactorily replied to the complaint of Mr R. J. Scarlett, but if Mr Edwards reads the correspondent’s letter again he will see that he merely explains something for which no explanation was asked The complaint was that [the company failed to notify passengers of the change of berthing arrangements before landing. Perhaps Mr Edwards could be invited to reply again.—Yours, etc., D. MARSHALL. August 11, 1965. [The manager of the Union Steam Ship Company. Christchurch (Mr H. G. Edwards) says: “The company regrets any inconvenience caused and arrangements have been made for an announcement over the ships’ loud-speakers advising of the change in berths.”J
