SEQUEL TO STOPPAGES
Fined £5OOO (N.Z. Press Assn. —Copyright) MELBOURNE, Aug. 10. The Commonwealth Industrial Court today fined the Waterside Workers’ Federation a total of £5OOO for contempt after stoppages in three states in the last month. On nine charges the Court imposed the maximum penalty of £5OO. The Court imposed penalties of £3OO and £2OO on two charges and dismissed one of the 12 charges against the federation. The federation, through its industrial officer, Mr N. Docker, pleaded guilty to the charges but with “certain reservations.”
