Queenslanders’ Best Win
(N.Z. Press Association) WELLINGTON, August 9. The touring North Queensland men’s basketball team had its best tour win to date when it beat Wellington 57-52 tonight. The capacity crowd was treated to magnificent guarding by the Queensland team and fine shooting, with D. Mackereth leading the way with 19 points. Wellington's top scorer was A. Bland, with 17 points. Trailing for most of the game, Wellington drew level at 44-all. but Queensland, tightening its defence further and making many successful probes, pulled away for a merited win.
