Hairdressing Awards
Students from all parts of New Zealand and Australia attended the International College of Hairdressing reunion in Christchurch. Mr P. Blanchfield, M.P. for Westland, presented trophies to the following: Miss Kay Minifie, most promising hairstylist; Miss Verna Sole, best all-round student; Mr John Malcolm, hair-colouring trophy; Mrs Elizabeth Bean, Frank Donnelly haircutting trophy; Miss Rosalie Sherriff, cold-waving trophy; Mrs Elma Lukey, hair-dressing theory trophy. The following students have recently gained their diplomas: Misses Dianne Stokes (Kaikoura), Caroline Elliot (Oamaru), Patricia Eaves (Hawarden), Juleen Omond (Dunedin), Joy Bowmar (Hampden), Lyn Hayward (Christchurch), Margaret Lilley (Hawarden), Carol Smith (Western Australia), Rosemary Hyatt (Nelson).
