Clubs ‘Keep The Change’

(N.Z. Press Association) WELLINGTON, August IL Racing clubs received the benefit of fractions from racing dividends on-course but the amount involved was not known as the keeping of records was not required. The amount received by the Totalisator Agency Board in respect of fractions from 5s double dividends was also not known, the Minister of Internal Affairs (Mr Seath) said in reply to a question from Mr P. Blanchfield (Opp., Westland) in Parliament yesterday. Mr Blanchfield had asked who received the benefits of fractions from racing dividends on-course, the approximate amount involved in the fractions last year and the amount received last year by the T.A.B. in respect of fractions retained from 5s double dividends.

likely cause is a shortage of bone-building and strengthening nutrients as a young horse. “It is estimated that at least 70 per cent of the food intake of a horse consists of grass—in the form of either pasture or hay—so the quality of the grass is clearly of the utmost importance. “The battle for soundness is fought, to a large extent, in the paddocks and the hayfields.”
