Roman Catholic Schools

Sir, —May I thank Bishop Ashby for his revealing reply to my letter. If religious education can be better served by exposing five and six-year-old children to the everincreasing dangers of crossing roads and other traffic hazards rather than by simply asking older and more responsible children to do these things; then the welfare of very young children should be out of the hands of the religious educators. Any person, particularly one with an alternative, who chooses to expose a small child to potential danger for any purpose whatsoever is not eaual to the tasks of responsibility for young children.—Yours. PARENT. August 6, 1965.
