The United States yesterdayqualified to play Spain in the Davis Cup inter-zone round bycompleting a crushing 4-1 victory over Mexico in the American zone final. The Negro, A. Ashe, clinched the tie with a 6-1, 6-4, 6-4 win over A. Palafox. In the final singles, the American No. 1, R. D. Ralston overpowered the top Mexican player, R. Osuna, 6-0, 6-2, 6-4. i The United States had won[ the opening two singles and: Mexico the doubles. 1
