Christchurch No. 1 Scores 55
Scoring 55 out of a possible of 75, the Christchurch No. 1 team emerged the winner in the Vale Shield competition, held between Canterbury gun clubs at Yaldhurst. The smaller sparrow clay targets used in the competition, coupled with the extremely cold and windy conditions, affected performances.
Belfast No. 1 team was run-ner-up with 51. North Canterbury registered 47, Amberley 46. Christchurch No. 2, 45, Ellesnere and Belfast No. 2 43, Waihora 41 and Belfast No. 3 33.
C. C. Skinner won the Christchurch club sparrow clay championship, held in conjunc tion with the teams’ event, after a shoot off against C. W. Stott, ind L. G. Baldock. B. Baldock aras runner-up.
