STAKES AT ASCOT
13 To Contest Rich Event (N Z P A -Reuter—Copyright) LONDON. There were 13 horses left in the King George Sixth and Queen Elizabeth Stakes at the four-day declaration stage on Tuesday. The race, to be run over one mile and a half at Ascot Heath on Saturday, will be worth £36,950. The champion jockey, Lester Piggott, will ride the Irish Sweeps Derby winner Meadow Court. The 13 acceptors with probable jockeys and weights are:—Claudius, Indiana (J. Lindley), Oncidium (W. Williamson). Soderini (G. Lewis), Baly Joy (J. Purtell), Biscayne 9-7; Homeward Bound (G. Starkey) 9-4; Meadow Court (L. Piggott), Western Wind (L. Ward), I Say (R. Poincelet), Niksar (D. Smith), Khalife (J. Roe), Ballymarais (B. Connorton) 8-7.
