Harrier* v. Cyclists This event was held on a circuit of a little over one mile on Findlay’s farm. It was a rugged course for the cyclists, around the outskirts of a stock yard, across a gully, over a paddock to a rail which they had to hurdle, and then on for another 10 chains to the finish The harriers, C. and D- Reece, led for the first lap. with the cyclist, J. Danielson, close behind.

Gding through the gully for the last time Danielson was sixth and it looked at this stage as if the harriers, especially the Reece brothers, would win easily.
