Three In Hospital After Accidents
Three persons were admitted to the Christchurch Hospital after motor accidents during the week-end.
Fell From Car.—Terence Young. of 19 Leverett place, suffered lacerations to the head when he fell out of a car in Hoon Hay road about 3 p.m. yesterday. He was admitted to the Christchurch Hospital.
Car Turns Over.—Robert Goding, of 48 Elatham street, Blenheim, was treated at the Christchurch Hospital for arm injuries after a car turned over at the corner of Montreal street and Cranmer square about 12.30 p.m. on Saturday.
Cars Collide.—Head injuries were suffered by Alexander Hall, of 7 Jellicoe street, South Brighton, when two cars collided in Dyers road on Saturday evening. He was admitted to Christchurch Hospital. Head Injuries.— Ernest Albert Bourgeois, of 43 Swanns road, suffered head injuries when the motor-cycle he was riding east on Tuam street struck the kerb on the eastern side of Fitzgerald avenue about 12.30 a.m. on Saturday. He was admitted to the Christchurch Hospital. A pillion passenger Elizabeth Anne Regan, of 135 Barbadoes street, suffered minor injuries Two Injured.— When two ears collided on Marshland road about half a mile north of Prestons road about 8 p.m. on Saturday two persons suffered minor injuries. They are Mary Sanders, aged 18. and Annette Sanders aged 13 of Stewart Gully. They were passengers in the car driven by Joseph William Monopoli. of 41 Jocelyn street, Papanui. The other car was driven by Noel Anthony Pentecost, of Kaiapoi. Both vehicles were extensively damaged. Two Vehicles Damaged.—A car and a van were extensively damaged when they
collided on New Brighton road about 300 yards east of Avondale road about 7 p.m. on Saturday. Stewart Monro, the driver of the van, which overturned, suffered a cut on the head. The car was driven by Terrence Eric Gilchrist, of 86 Aidershot street.
Car Badly Damaged.— Eleanor Nancy Appel, of 309 Barbadoes street, suffered leg injuries and shock when the car she was driving and another car collided at the corner of Cambridge terrace and Fitzgerald avenue about 3.10 p.m. on Saturday. Her car was extensively damaged. Ann and Leg Injuries.—A motor-cyclist, Kenneth Barry Johnston, of 65 Nottingham avenue, was treated for arm and leg injuries at the Christchurch Hospital after his machine and a car collided at the corner of Clarence street and Lincoln road about 10.45 a.m. on Sunday.
Cyclist Injured. Gerrit Bahlman. of 219 Kilmore street, suffered minor injuries when his cycle and a car collided at the corner of Worcester and Barbadoes streets about 4.30 p.m. on Saturday. He was treated at the Christchurch Hospital. Collision at Corner.—Two cars collided at the corner of Nayland and Stoke streets, Sumner, at 2.50 p.m. on Saturday. The driver of one. Miss Jean Wright, of 33A Matai street, Riccarton, suffered minor head injuries and was treated by Dr. J. D. Thomson, of Sumner. The other car was driven by F. J. Murdoch, of 17 Wakefield avenue, Sumner. One car had to be taken away by a breakdown vehicle.
Broken Leg.—Dexter Sinclair, of the Central fire station, suffered a broken leg when playing Rugby at Paparua Prison yesterday afternoon. He was treated at the Christchurch Hospital.
