CHOIR’S TRIP TO BRITAIN
£B5OO Raised So Far
The Christchurch Civic Music Council's appeal for £lB,OOO for the Christchurch Harmonic Society’s trip to Britain to sing in the Commonwealth Arts Festival, now stands at £B5OO. The chairman of the council (Mr G. A. G. Connal), has acknowledged the following additional amounts of £5O or more:—
David Crozier, Ltd., £200; Charles Begg and Company, Ltd., D. H. Brown and Company, each £100; Foodstuffs (Christchurch), Ltd., J. Ballantyne and Company, Ltd., International Cameras, Murphy Bros., Ltd., C. W. F. Hamilton and Company, Ltd., Lane, Walker, Rudkin, Christchurch Press Company, Ltd., Thomas Hyde, Ltd., C.0.P., Ltd., Blackwell Motors, Ltd., Beath and Company, Ltd., Taylor’s Cleaners and Dyers, Ltd., Carbonic Ice, Ltd., each £5O. To augment the funds. Mr Connal said, there will be a stall in Cathedral square and a street appeal, next Friday.
