REVISED NEW TESTAMENT
Catholic Edition In N.Z. Soon (N.Z. Press Association) WELLINGTON, July 1. The first copies of the Roman Catholic edition of the Protestant-revised standard version of the New Testament should arrive in Wellington on August 15, Mr P. D. Hoskins, assistant general manager of Catholic supplies, said today. He said the publication had attracted interest among all denominations. The edition, published with the full approval of the Holy Office in Rome, was regarded by theologians as a major step towards a common Bible for all Christians. A Roman Catholic edition of the revised standard version of the whole Bible will be published early next year.
