U.K. BUTTER MARKET
Consumption Rising (Special Crspdt N.Z.P.A.) LONDON, July 1. The butter market in Britain continues “uneasy” but consumption is reported to be rising above 9000 tons a week. Continental butters have all slipped down to about 300 s a cwt—and Belgian butter is changing hands at 290 s a cwt. Polish, Hungarian, Bulgarian, and Rumanian butters are all selling for slightly more. Danish butter remains at 3625, but Dutch is 308 s. There is no French butter offering at present. Tooley Street comment does not suggest a further fall in New Zealand and Australian prices.
